Petrus 2016 is a prestigious red wine from the Pomerol appellation in Bordeaux. The wine is made exclusively from Merlot sourced from an 11.4-hectare vineyard with an exceptionally high content of iron-rich clay. The vines are on average more than 35 years old and are managed with great care to achieve optimal grape quality.
The grapes are harvested at optimal ripeness and, after careful selection, vinified in temperature-controlled concrete tanks. The wine then matures for 12 to 16 months in new oak barrels. Petrus 2016 stands out for its intense color, complex and powerful aromas, great elegance and lush fruit. In outstanding vintages, the wine has an impressive ageing potential of 25 years or more. Petrus is regarded worldwide as one of the most renowned wines of Bordeaux and is considered an icon of the Pomerol appellation.
